This seperated at birth thing between us is getting very scary. I just bought the Blackberry 8830 World Phone in July. I'd never had a Blackberry, but I needed a new phone, and I was looking for something I could get email and surf the web with. I have Verizon Wireless and I didn't want to switch and that's why I got the 8830.

I absolutely love it. It does everything I need it to do with very few drawbacks. I like the wheel in the middle and once I learned web surfing and keyboard shortcuts I was able to use it efficiently. The minor flaws you mentioned pertain to the 8830 as well, but I don't find them to be much of a problem.

I don't get any purse dialing, even though I don't lock the keyboard, because I got a really cool case for it at Noreve Leather (http://www.noreve.com).

It comes in 12 great colors---I got the pink one---and it protects the phone when it drops. It comes with an optional clip-on attachment, puts it in sleep mode when you close the flap, and allows you to be on the phone while it's still in the case. It's not cheap, it's $39.99 plus shipping, but for me it was well worth it. The one thing about the case, while you're on the phone, you have to keep you hand between the flap and the phone, otherwise the phone will shut off while you're in the middle of a call. I learned that one the hard way, but I've since adapted.

Ha! That's too funny. We are living pretty much the same life, no?

Thanks for the case recommendation! That's just what I need.
