It's still Suebob's birthday for 45 minutes as I write this. However, since she has been celebrating for 50 days, I think (hope) she will forgive me for being a little bit late.
One of the first blogs I ever discovered was Suebob's Red Stapler. I immediately fell in love with her sharp wit, slightly cranky but always loving viewpoint and her great link collection. I commented, she responded and even, if I didn't dream it, came over and commented on my little blog. Not to mention that for a gal who named her first blog after her dog, anyone who loves their dog as much as Suebob loves Goldie is a girl after my own heart.
I had a certified blog crush and when, while working the registration desk at BlogHer '06 she picked up her credentials and I met her in person for the first time, I think I might have freaked her out a little. I didn't get to take a red stapler photo that year. But in 2007, as I was in line to check out of the conference hotel, I had my chance and I was baptized into her sorority.
Sue is one of my spinster soul sisters and one of the great joys that blogging has brought into my life. If you know Suebob and her red stapler then I'm merely joining the chorus affirming her light and love. But if you should stumble upon this not knowing Suebob, then I urge you to head over to her Red Stapler and find out just why she is a force of nature. Your life will be better for it.
Thank you to Karen Sugarpants for organizing this little online celebration (where you can find links to all the love) and to Laurie White for alerting me. And, unlike everyone else, I cannot figure out how to steal photos from Suebob's Flickr stream so you'll have to click on links. It will be worth your while.
